Nakanishi VICTORY! Read here

In Athens-Clarke County, two industrial facilities account for 94% of all the toxic industrial air emissions reported on the federal Toxic Release Inventory. CertainTeed Corporation (78%) and Nakanishi Manufacturing (15%) release hundreds of tons of chemicals known to cause harm, including cancer and respiratory illness. CertainTeed is applying for a permit to more than double its pollution, while Nakanishi is applying to continue releasing a cancer-causing chemical being phased out elsewhere. The two facilities lie less than two miles apart in a predominantly African American part of Clarke County. Read more here…
